THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE PANEL.

Read the liver-related pattern.

ALT, AST, ALP and GGT are considered alongside bilirubin fractions, albumin, total protein and globulin. Medicines, alcohol use, recent illness and other conditions may matter. A combined pattern helps guide the next clinical question; no one marker tells the whole story.

Enzymes, pigments and proteins.

The included liver-related measurements are shown individually below. Enzymes, bilirubin and proteins answer different questions; the selected results are read as a pattern rather than as one overall liver score.

What this means in context

Some markers also come from other tissues. A laboratory pattern may lead to a repeat test, imaging or a more targeted investigation.

THE RIGHT START DEPENDS ON YOU.

A useful package.
A personal decision.

Choose the investigation around the question you want to discuss. The profile does not include viral hepatitis tests, imaging or a complete assessment of liver synthetic function.

01

A defined question

ALT, AST, ALP and GGT are considered alongside bilirubin fractions, albumin, total protein and globulin. Medicines, alcohol use, recent illness and other conditions may matter. A combined pattern helps guide the next clinical question; no one marker tells the whole story.

02

Matching a prescription

Compare the full included list with your clinician’s request. The profile does not include viral hepatitis tests, imaging or a complete assessment of liver synthetic function.

03

Following a previous finding

Bring earlier results and the relevant symptom or treatment history. The clinician can decide whether this scope, a smaller test selection or a different investigation is the most useful next step.

Questions to take to your clinician
  • What does this part of my result add to the clinical question?
  • Does the sample timing or a medicine affect this finding?
  • What follow-up is appropriate for this specific result?

THE NEXT STEP IS PERSONAL.

Bring the findings
back to you.

Connect the laboratory findings with the reason for this specific test. A report supports the next clinical conversation; it does not decide it for you.

01

Review the combined pattern

Consider the included enzymes, bilirubin and proteins with medicines, alcohol use, symptoms and earlier findings. Follow-up may be a repeat measurement or a more specific investigation, depending on the pattern.

02

Agree the next step

Discuss this result with a clinician who knows the reason for testing. Further investigations or follow-up depend on the actual findings and your circumstances.

Choosing for a particular need?
We can help you read the options.

BEFORE YOU BOOK.

A little more
clarity.

Preparation, sample types, timing and what the package does—and does not—include.

What is included in Liver Profile?

Ten measurements cover enzymes, bilirubin and proteins, each contributing different information. The full named inventory on this page is the scope of the package.

Are hepatitis B and C tests included?

No. This package measures liver-associated biochemistry. Hepatitis antigen or antibody tests are different investigations and are ordered separately when indicated.

Does an abnormal liver enzyme always mean liver disease?

No. Several factors can influence enzymes, and some also occur in other tissues. The pattern and the clinical context guide follow-up.

Why are bilirubin and proteins included?

They provide different information from the enzymes. Direct, indirect and total bilirubin are considered with albumin, total protein and globulin.

Can a normal liver profile rule out every liver condition?

No. A normal biochemical profile does not exclude every liver condition; symptoms and risk factors may still warrant further assessment.

How should I prepare?

Fasting is recommended but not required in the laboratory’s package guidance. Confirm whether an 8–12-hour fast is useful for your appointment, especially if other tests are being collected.

Can I arrange collection in Dubai?

Yes. Choose home collection across Dubai or a visit to Intel Lab in Deira. Any health package waives the collection fee for its own visit; separate appointments are assessed separately.

What is the price and expected turnaround?

The package price is AED 89; the listed turnaround is 24 hours. Confirm collection and processing arrangements with the team. Turnaround is not a guarantee that every result will be released at one exact time.

What happens after I receive the result?

Review relevant findings with a qualified clinician alongside the reason for testing, symptoms, medicines and prior results. The report may lead to reassurance about the tested question, confirmation, a targeted investigation or follow-up—not an automatic treatment decision.
