Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg)

Looks for hepatitis B surface antigen. A reactive result needs clinical follow-up; this does not measure vaccine immunity.

HIV 1 & 2 Antibodies with P24 Antigen

Combines HIV-1/2 antibody testing with p24 antigen testing. Reactive results need the appropriate confirmation pathway; very recent infection may not yet be detectable.

Checking a prescription?
Let’s make sure it matches.

THE RIGHT START DEPENDS ON YOU.

A useful package.
A personal decision.

Choose the investigation around the question you want to discuss. Hepatitis C, syphilis serology and genital PCR targets are not included.

01

A defined question

HIV-1/2 antigen-antibody testing and hepatitis B surface antigen are the two included assays behind the three-infection display.

02

Matching a prescription

Compare the full included list with your clinician’s request. Hepatitis C, syphilis serology and genital PCR targets are not included.

03

Following a previous finding

Bring earlier results and the relevant symptom or treatment history. The clinician can decide whether this scope, a smaller test selection or a different investigation is the most useful next step.

Questions to take to your clinician
  • What does this part of my result add to the clinical question?
  • Does the sample timing or a medicine affect this finding?
  • What follow-up is appropriate for this specific result?

THE NEXT STEP IS PERSONAL.

Bring the findings
back to you.

Connect the laboratory findings with the reason for this specific test. A report supports the next clinical conversation; it does not decide it for you.

clinician and adult patient discussing laboratory results
01

Follow the appropriate confirmation pathway

Review any reactive blood-screen result with the clinical team. The exact assay determines what confirmation or further testing is appropriate, and recent exposure may require a later repeat sample.

02

Agree the next step

Discuss this result with a clinician who knows the reason for testing. Further investigations or follow-up depend on the actual findings and your circumstances.

Choosing for a particular need?
We can help you read the options.

BEFORE YOU BOOK.

A little more
clarity.

Preparation, sample types, timing and what the package does—and does not—include.

What is included in STD Essentials?

A focused blood-based sexual-health screen. The full named inventory on this page is the scope of the package.

Why are three infections represented by two tests?

The combined HIV assay covers HIV-1 and HIV-2; hepatitis B surface antigen is the other included assay.

Can I test immediately after any possible exposure?

The timing depends on the infection and test. Very early tests may be negative; discuss the exposure and an appropriate testing plan.

Does a reactive screen always establish current infection?

Not necessarily. A reactive HIV antigen-antibody screen needs the appropriate confirmation pathway; hepatitis B surface antigen also needs clinical follow-up.

Do these tests show immunity to hepatitis B?

No. Hepatitis B surface antigen is not the antibody test used to assess vaccine-related immunity.

How should I prepare?

This package does not require fasting for this testing. Confirm whether any additional tests in your booking change that instruction; do not alter prescribed medicines without advice.

Can I arrange collection in Dubai?

Yes. Choose home collection across Dubai or a visit to Intel Lab in Deira. Any health package waives the collection fee for its own visit; separate appointments are assessed separately.

What is the price and expected turnaround?

The package price is AED 199; the listed turnaround is 24 hours. Confirm collection and processing arrangements with the team. Turnaround is not a guarantee that every result will be released at one exact time.

What happens after I receive the result?

Review relevant findings with a qualified clinician alongside the reason for testing, symptoms, medicines and prior results. The report may lead to reassurance about the tested question, confirmation, a targeted investigation or follow-up—not an automatic treatment decision.
