THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE PANEL.
Circulating iron. Binding capacity.
Serum iron describes circulating iron; TIBC adds information about the capacity of blood proteins to carry it. These measurements are often read with a blood count and, where needed, ferritin. An isolated iron result can change with collection time and recent intake.

Circulating iron and its context.
Iron measurements provide complementary information about circulating iron, transport and—when ferritin is included—iron stores. They are often interpreted alongside the blood count.
What this means in context
A normal or low serum iron result alone is not a complete assessment of iron deficiency. Ferritin may be influenced by inflammation.

2 biomarkers. The scope, made clear.
The headline measurement count includes multi-component panels where present. The included test records and their published nested measurements are displayed separately so the count is transparent.

Share the reason for testing, diabetes or pregnancy where relevant, medicines, supplements and any difficulty with collection or fasting. The package preparation guidance specifies an 8–12-hour fast. THE NEXT STEP IS PERSONAL.
Bring the findings back to you.
Connect the laboratory findings with the reason for this specific test. A report supports the next clinical conversation; it does not decide it for you.
01
Interpret iron with its wider context
Review serum iron and binding capacity with symptoms and any available blood count or ferritin result. The clinician can decide whether further assessment or treatment is appropriate.
02
Agree the next step
Discuss this result with a clinician who knows the reason for testing. Further investigations or follow-up depend on the actual findings and your circumstances.

BEFORE YOU BOOK.
A little more clarity.
Preparation, sample types, timing and what the package does—and does not—include.
What is included in Iron Profile?
Serum iron and total iron-binding capacity in a focused two-measurement package. The full named inventory on this page is the scope of the package.
Can these two tests confirm iron deficiency?
They can contribute useful information, but the clinician may also need CBC, ferritin, symptoms and relevant history. A single serum-iron measurement is not enough to explain every iron-related concern.
Why measure TIBC with serum iron?
TIBC adds information about iron transport capacity. Together the measurements are more informative than a circulating iron result alone.
Can recent iron supplements affect the result?
They can affect interpretation. Tell the team the product, dose and last use, and obtain preparation instructions; do not stop prescribed treatment independently.
Why can a repeat result look different?
Time of day, recent intake, illness and treatment may change iron-related results. Similar collection conditions and the wider pattern help with comparisons.
How should I prepare?
The package preparation guidance specifies an 8–12-hour fast. Confirm the instructions for your appointment; plain water is permitted. Ask the clinician how to manage medicines or any difficulty fasting.
Can I arrange collection in Dubai?
Yes. Choose home collection across Dubai or a visit to Intel Lab in Deira. Any health package waives the collection fee for its own visit; separate appointments are assessed separately.
What is the price and expected turnaround?
The package price is AED 89; the listed turnaround is 24 hours. Confirm collection and processing arrangements with the team. Turnaround is not a guarantee that every result will be released at one exact time.
What happens after I receive the result?
Review relevant findings with a qualified clinician alongside the reason for testing, symptoms, medicines and prior results. The report may lead to reassurance about the tested question, confirmation, a targeted investigation or follow-up—not an automatic treatment decision.
